This chapel preserves the relics of Marguerite-Marie Alacoque, a young Visitandine sister who received the apparitions of Christ in the 17th century between 1673 and 1675, authenticated by her confessor, the Jesuit Claude La Colombière. Since that date hundreds of thousands of pilgrims have come to meditate each year.
